mother1Pap smear – All women who have ever been sexually active should have regular Pap tests. Cervical cancer screening should start at the age of 21 years Women aged between 21- 29 years should undergo Pap smear every 3 years Women aged 30 -65 should have Pap smear with HPV co-testing every 5 years (preferred). Pap smear alone should be repeated every 3 year.

mother1Pelvic ultrasonography – pelvic ultrasound examination looks into abnormality of uterus, ovary, tubes and pelvis. We suggest Trans- vaginal route than trans- abdominal method. Transvaginal gives more information and can detect early ovarian lesions.

mother1Bio-chemical makers- few bio-chemical markers are recommended in women who have any ovarian lesions and also in women who have a very strong history of cancers in family.

Uterine cancer :

Uterine cancers of the uterus can be of two types one arising from uterus muscle which is called as Sarcoma and one which arises from the endometrium which is called as Endometrial Carcinoma. Endometrial cancers
are more common than the myometrial cancers. They usually presents With abnormal uterine bleeding or with post-menopausal bleeding. There is no recommendation on the screening of uterine cancers but women who have
abnormal or postmenopausal bleeding should undergo tests to rule out
endometrial cancers. Some of the tests recommended are –
